CINCH Academy 2014

The CINCH Academy in Essen took place for the second time from May 24 to May 30 2014. CINCH Academy is a summer school for young scientists in the field of health economics.

This year's lectures focused on empirical methods. The internationally renowned lecturers Michael Lechner (University of St. Gallen) and William Greene (New York University) have been recruited for this purpose. In this way, the participants were given a broad overview of the methodological toolbox of empirical health economics. In addition, participants had time to present and discuss their own current research work. Participants thus receive constructive feedback for their own work. For the first time this year, the best work of all participants was awarded: Christian Krekel (DIW Berlin) convinced the jury with his work "Natural Disaster, Policy Action, and Mental Well-Being: The Case of Fukushima".
