Bio:
Prof. Dr. Kristina Strohmaier is a Professor of Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where she has held a position since April 2022. She earned her PhD in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Nadine Riedel at Ruhr University Bochum. From 2017 to 2022, she served as a Junior Professor of Economics at the University of Tübingen. During this time, she was also a visiting scholar at Columbia University in New York and the European University Institute in Florence. In addition, she is affiliated with the ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research and the Research School of International Taxation (RSIT).
Kristina Strohmaier is an applied microeconomist with a strong focus on public economics, particularly in the areas of (international) taxation, health, and education. Her research has been published in leading international journals, including the Economic Journal, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and International Tax and Public Finance.
