Michael Darden

Michael Darden is an associate professor at the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University, a research faculty fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a co-editor of the Journal of Human Resources.  He works in the fields of health economics and health econometrics, with a focus on risky behaviors, mental health, and information economics.  His work has appeared in such outlets as the Journal of Political Economy and the International Economic Review.  Professor Darden teaches core courses in the Master of Health Care Management degree program at Johns Hopkins.  In addition to serving on the editorial board at JHR, Professor Darden is actively involved in the American Society of Health Economists and the American Economic Association.

Bruce Hollingsworth

Professor Bruce Hollingsworth’s has recently built the new and very successful Health Economics at Lancaster group, at Lancaster University in the UK, ranked in the top 10 UK Universities.  He is Adjunct Principal Research Fellow at Monash University, where he was Director of the Centre for Health Economics. He is currently an Investigator on over £5 million of grants from national and international funders. He has received the Dean’s Commendation for Excellence in Research Quality and Impact, and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research, with papers cited more than 4,000 times. In the last few years he has given 19 major invited presentations, including to the IMF, the World Bank, and the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and has been an Advisor to the Gates Foundation, and WHO. Bruce has supervised many PhD students, and is Editor of Health Economics.
